Synergy and Genesis – these two words combine to give birth to ‘Syngesis’.
Synergy means that everything we do must have a consonance with sustainability and empowerment, our key value drivers: Synergy with local communities and their needs. Synergy with wider policy and strategies where relevant – as we will be disruptors challenging the status quo in testing new ideas for community development.
Genesis is about new beginnings, innovation, change…. fundamental to progress in society which we espouse through our work.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.
The goals are integrated - they recognise that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability. They are a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all, and address the global challenges of poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.
Syngesis was set up to have synergy with these goals. As such, our logo has 16 interlocking shapes denoting each of these goals, with the final 'partnership' goal (17) being the whole logo, as these shapes come together to become the logo.

Syngesis CIC was formally constituted on 2nd February 2021 primarily in response to the impact of Covid '19 on our communities.
As a non-profit organisation, any surplus we make is reinvested into our services to increase our impact.
Our activities provide benefit to socially and economically disadvantaged and excluded communities, with a focus on Black and/or Racially Minoritised Communities, particularly within the Greater Manchester region of the UK where Syngesis CIC is based.
These communities will benefit through our projects, activities and initiatives which are designed to improve health and wellbeing, support alleviation of poverty, address social exclusion, promote sustainable development, and advance equality and diversity.
